(W)hole in one - on our golf courses

The varied landscapes of the Murtal are home to four of the most beautiful and versatile golf complexes in Austria: Lungau, Murau-Kreischberg, Mariahof and Murtal. Each of the four has its own special attractions, whether in design or in scenic charms. However, they do all share a couple of things in common: perfectly maintained greens and the superb hospitality of the many partner hotels. You'll be bowled over!

MURTAL golf club

Irish golf design has come to the Murtal Golf Club courtesy of Jeff Howes. The renowned Irish golf course designer has created an 18-hole course that dreams are made of: its flat, park-style course is a unique jewel amidst nature that puts any golfer to the test.

murau-kreischberg GOLF CLUB

The 18-hole complex set between the beer town of Murau and the mountain where the skiing world championships were held is celebrated for its attractive design. Of course, striking golfing elements are par for the course: undulating greens, water bodies to the side and front, as well as spectacular half greens and island greens. The rippling greens in particular have long been a signature of this course, as have its exciting forest runs. Your round ends right outside the club pub "Pfiff". The 18-hole island green is a spectacular finish; applause from the audience on the large terrace is a given. You can see much of the complex from the clubhouse terrace, so you're still in the middle of the action even before or after a round. The outer appearance of the complex also knows how to deliver. Located in the heart of the "Murau world of wood", the course is a nod to this environment with its specific wood design: wooden palisades border off the pond, greens and bunkers, while a traditional old alpine chalet serves as a halfway station.

Styrian Mountain golf mariahof

Those playing at the Golfplatz Mariahof, which spans around 68 hectares, will be delighted by this scenic jewel. The 18-hole complex in the heart of the Nature Park has been designed just as if nature intended it that way.

Golfclub Lungau

The neighbouring Lungau site offers a top-flight 18-hole course, nestled in an idyllic landscape.

Golfing in the Salzburger Lungau region is a very special  experience. Tucked into a charming landscape is a beautiful, excellently maintained 18-hole course. Spacious practice areas and a delightful 9-hole par-3 course welcome both beginners and advanced players.

The golf experts of Lungau offer everything the heart could desire: from PGA-certified golf academy with a fantastic shop to numerous top hotels and romantic guesthouses through to a golf restaurant with sun terrace and idyllic views, everything is geared towards your golfing pleasure.

Designed by Keith Preston, the complex presents a great challenge for any player even up to the highest level.
